As app developers, the user feedback we get from App Store reviews is a much needed light in the dark box that separates developers from their customers. Mobile app platforms like the Apple App Store and Google Play Store are notorious for limiting the information they share with their developers. This creates a barrier between developers and users that makes it difficult to get a clear sense of who your users are, and what they want most out of the user experience in your app.

The power of user feedback can not be understated. Gathering feedback can give you a consensus of how users feel about your app. Put simply, getting a census of user feedback CUTS THROUGH THE GUESSWORK involved in providing an amazing customer experience. Harvesting the often neglected app reviews from your users is a great start in the effort to learn more about your customers wants and needs, but we can do even better by shining a light on the reviews of our competitors.

We do this by creating a competitor channel inside of Slack.

AppReviewBot for Slack gives you unlimited review feeds, and that allows us to take our user feedback to another level. Competitive analysis is an easy way to grow the amount of user feedback your mobile app is receiving.

Did you know there are apps for Slack?

AppReviewBot uses Slack to change your experience with mobile reviews

First, create a channel in your Slack workspace called competitor-reviews.

We will populate this channel with reviews

Hop over to AppReviewBot.com and start searching for the other players in your space. Enter the email you use for your Slack workspace and hit “Add to Slack”, and that’s it!

Search and add review feeds easily at AppReviewBot.com

Tip: Not sure who your competition is? Try spending some time on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store searching keywords from your app. Search through the results and identify apps that complete similar tasks or games that have a similar play style. Create a list of at least 4 or 5 apps and look them up on AppReviewBot’s main page.

Reviews will be posted instantly

The information that fills this channel will highlight key factors that are separating you from your competition. Find out what users love and hate about the other apps in your space.

AppReviewBot, competitor analysis made easy.
